Jumai Yusuf Bio
Jumai Yusuf is a Nigerian-American Director, Writer, Producer, and co-founder of Lunar Crown Productions who works across live-action and animation. A graduate of USC’s MFA Film & TV Production program and Harvard’s Neurobiology program, her work centers underrepresented stories with bold, genre-driven storytelling. Her films have screened at Tribeca, Austin, HollyShorts, and Cannes. Her work was nominated for the NAACP Image Awards and won the Gold House Cultural Impact Award at the American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker Showcase during Cannes. Tawakalitu Adeyinka Yusuf “Tawa” is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA), CPA, and co-founder of Lunar Crown Productions, an entertainment company producing content across media platforms. With over 30 years of global experience in accounting, business development, and leadership, she blends financial expertise with a passion for media and the arts. She has contributed to nonprofit leadership, conference planning, and business advisory, and co-founded ICAN-USA, serving as its past chairperson. Tawa holds an MBA from Northeastern University and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. She champions international collaboration, professional growth, and creative storytelling.
